Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog. To begin the adoption process, please fill out our adoption application online or save it to your computer, complete, and email it to blueridgedobermanrescue@yahoo.com . If you prefer, you may print it out and mail it to us. Please be sure to read our adoption contract, as you will be required to sign it should you adopt from our organization.
Within several days, you will receive confirmation from us that your application was received. At this time, a volunteer will be assigned to contact you to schedule a phone screen. The phone screen is an opportunity for us to get to know you better, and for you to ask our volunteer any questions you might have.
Your personal and veterinarian references will also be checked.
Once your phone screen has been completed, we will probably schedule a home visit so that a volunteer may come out and meet with you face to face.
You will be informed once your application is approved and you may begin meeting dogs. Please note that even if you are approved, not every dog will work in your environment. We want to make the best possible placements so that the dogs do not get bounced around anymore.
Even if we do not currently have a dog available for adoption that you are interested in, please go ahead and fill out our application.
All dogs are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccinations, and tested for heartworm prior to adoption. Our adoption fee is $250.
